This Friday is the first installment of ‘Awful Fat Guy of the Month’. I did a post in the past that highlighted a pretty awful fat guy (I referred to him as a Big Bad Man) but this is now going to be a regular monthly feature. You can check out the older post here.

I’m not going to beat around the bush here. There was only one guy I had in mind for this post. He was the reason I decided to make these posts a regular thing. How could I not? Before I get on with it I want to make something clear. In the “Awesome Fat Guy” posts I would go deep into the man’s life and history. I’m not doing that here. I’ll do a quick, real quick, overview and then get right to why the dude in question is terrible.

Jared Fogle. He was a fat guy who lost a lot weight eating Subway Sandwiches. He then leveraged that into a career and was the impetus to weight loss in many people.  He was a symbol of positive change and healthy living. Jared was inspiration. Until he wasn’t.

It’s no secret that Jared Fogle is now in prison for being in possession of and distributing child pornography, and for attempting to have sex with a minor. I don’t really need to say anything more, but I will.

While it’s true that Jared is now thin, if reports on his eating habits in prison are any indication that won’t be for long, but to some people he will always be a fat guy. There is a stereotype that all fat guys are giant perverts. This does nothing to change that.

Look, I am not trying to take away from what Jared did but there is something else going on here as well. I read something online. It said that people need only three things to survive, food, water, and shelter. The human race needs only four things food, water, shelter, and procreation. It went on to ask “if you can’t control your need for one of these things why would you be able to control your need for any of them?”

Basically, if you over indulge in food, drink, or belongings you’ll likely be unable to control your sexual appetites. So ‘Fat Guy=Perv’  and ‘Fat Girl=Easy‘.  This is the thought process for a lot of people.

Guys like Jared are just proof of that. His appetites for children predate his weight loss. He was a sick fuck before he was a fat fuck. Yest the two things are linked.

I’m not saying that Jared is ‘Awful’ because he makes fat guys look bad. No, that motherfucker is awful because he tried to have sex with kids. I can, kind of, understand that some people have thoughts they can’t control. I will never condemn someone for their thoughts. I’ll judge them but I won’t condemn them. Once you act on them however, your ass is a fair target.

So what did Jared do? We know why he is in prison, the details of his plea are widely known, but what has he done? Exactly?

He collected and distributed Child Pornography. He attempted to have sex with a 17 year old girl, crossing state borders in the process. He tried to arrange sex with a 16 year old girl.  He offered adult prostitutes money to find him underage sex partners.  He had a thing for underage Asian girls apparently. Here’s the kicker. A Forensic Psychiatrist, who testified on Jared’s behalf, stated that he had a compulsive eating disorder which was replaced with ‘hyper sexuality’. You know what?

FUCK THAT.

You do not go from eating Twinkies uncontrollably to craving sex with children. If Fogle became an alcoholic because he drank beer instead of eating Doritos, I could get that. Hell, if he just became a sex addict that would be fine. But the man wanted kids. He is a pedophile. You don’t become a pedophile by giving up an addiction.

Jared has to pay $1.4 million in restitution to his victims. I’m a little confused by that. He didn’t plead guilty to actually having sex with any kids so who are these victims? Are they the kids in the porn he had? Whoever they are, they are each getting $100,000. It’s not enough if you ask me.

Fogle is now in minimum security prison. He was recently attacked by a fellow inmate. Sadly he only received minor injuries.  His earliest release date is July,11, 2029. I hope he doesn’t live to see it.

I remember years ago, I saw a show about obesity or something. In it there was a young girl who was over weight. She got a chance to speak to Fogle about losing weight. He was very cold to her and basically said to eat Subway, which she couldn’t afford to do. The girl was very sad after the encounter.

I look back on that now and my mind starts to wander. Was he cold because he didn’t want to arouse suspicion? Was this girl not his type? Or, ironically enough, did he not find her attractive because she was fat?

There is a columnist in New York, she works for the Daily News, her name is Linda Stasi. I really dislike her and her work. Yet, I find myself reading it now and then. After the Jared story broke she had a few comments to make about him. She made a lot of snide remarks about his weight and equated it to his perversion.

That is going to be his legacy. He isn’t a weight loss Icon or a sexual deviant. He will always be known as a “Fat Pedophile”. He has done more to hurt the image of fat men then he ever did to help overweight people.

Jared Fogle is an Awful Fat Guy and a Terrible Human Being.
