SciFi Saturday

When I was a kid there was a small diner very near my home. This place was a true "hole in the wall". The food was your very basic diner fare. I loved the chicken nuggets. they came out of a huge brown bag in the freezer. It was the sort of food that kids love. Anyway this diner had something different going for it. In the window facing the street were a number of toys. One of those toys was from the series "Bionic Six". The "Bionic Six" was one of those series that came out just a few years too early for me to latch onto. However, thanks to syndication and the Sci-Fi channel I did get to enjoy a few episodes. After looking back at "The Centurions" I got a case of nostalgia and this show is one of the most nostalgic for me. It also happens to be a Sci-Fi show. Which makes it perfect for Sci-Fi Saturday.

SciFi Saturday.

After last week's post I started to think about other cartoons that I could talk about. One of theme even featured power armor. It was one of my favorites as a child and still holds a place in my heart. So let's take a look at "Centurions: Power X Treme".

SciFi Saturday

Sometimes when you are a child you come across something that you instantly like. You enjoy it for what it is and when it ends you let it go. Then as time goes on you find yourself liking it more and more. Until you finally look back on it and actually love it. That's how I feel about Exosquad. Let's take a look at it.

SciFi Saturday

Last week I spoke about one of my favorite Sci-Fi novels. I love Starship Troopers, I do, but it is not my favorite Sci-Fi novel of all time. In fact it isn't even my favorite power armor novel. No, that honor goes to Armor by John Steakley.

SciFi Saturday

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite books of all time. A SciFi masterpiece written by my favorite author Robert A. Heinlen. Starship Troopers.

SciFi Saturday.

Just a quick update. My mother is doing a little better. I spoke to her this morning and she wasn't crying. So that's good. What isn't good is that my cousin (who has been a great deal of help during all of this) called to speak to her. It turns out she was unaware of what had been going on. I had to explain everything. I can barely keep it straight in my own head. Saying it out loud was much more difficult than it should have been.

Anyway, today is Saturday. From now one I will be spotlighting a form of Science Fiction every Saturday. Whether it be a movie, TV show, book, or even a beloved character. So let's get to it.
