Web Wednesday.

So I've been slacking a bit recently. I have no excuse. What can I say, laziness is in my DNA. Anyway I'm back and it's time to get back on the ball. Today, being Wednesday, we are looking at one of my 'new' favorite Internet Entertainers. I have only been watching his work for a few months but he has quickly become a top ten personality for me. So without further ado let's talk about Nash.

Nash Bozard has been around for over a decade. He started with an Internet Radio show named Radio Dead Air. It began in July 2000, as an in-character program for a Live Action Role Playing Game. It has evolved into a show about general geekiness and good music. The series airs live every Monday night from 9pm to 2am EST through Justin.TV and via Live365. There is also a live IRC chat through Darkmyst in #radiodeadair. I don't know what the last few words of that previous sentence mean but if you go to the website you'll get all the information you need. There are other music broadcasts that air during the week. You can find a play schedule here.  I can't comment on any of his radio work because I have yet to listen to it. However, if Nash is half as entertaining on it as he is in his other shows than I am sure it is pure gold.

With over ten years worth of experience it was only a matter of time before he was picked up by ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. On the 58th episode of Transmission Awesome it was announced that he would become a contributor to the site.

One of the main aspects of Nash joining TGWTG.com was "What The Fuck Is Wrong With You" a spin off of his main radio show that was made for the specific purpose of joining TGWTG.com. The show, which I will refer to as "WTFIWWY" from here on, focuses upon the weirdest, stupidest, news stories circulating around the Internet. (Before you ask I didn't get the idea for Damn!! Thursday from WTFIWWY. At least not consciously.) The series has two distinct formats. One is highly produced and video centric, while the second is recorded live, includes guests, and is more for listening. Both versions of the show are equally funny. I do prefer the more video centric versions due to the added cartoon footage. What can say, I'm a sucker for a stick figure (Stick Boy) being abused. If you enjoy seeing just how stupid people can be than by all means give it a shot.

Now is the part where I make a confession. I didn't start watching Nash because of WTFIWWY. I became a fan of that series later. What caught my attention was Nash's reviews of Doctor Who. If you don't know Doctor Who is a long running Sci-Fi Series from England. It began in the 60s and ran into the late 80s. After a hiatus of over a decade it made a comeback in  2005. It has since become a staple of the Geek/Nerd diet. I love the show. I went back and watched the entire series (Except for the missing episodes.) and loved every bit of it. When I saw that someone was reviewing one of my favorite shows and the original series at that, I had to watch. I am so glad I did.

Nash's reviews, of both Classic and New Doctor Who, are some of the most entertaining and earnest reviews on the TGWTG.com let alone the Internet on a whole. While these shows aren't viewed as a series 'proper', and are categorized under the label "Specials", they are not an afterthought. These episodes feature Nash at his best. He is never more on his game then when he is lovingly poking fun at these old gems. As far as I am concerned a Classic Doctor Who Review from Nash is always at the top of my list of "Things I need to Watch Right the Fuck Now!". In case you haven't figured it out I am a fan. So much so that I can and do recommend watching these even if you aren't a Doctor Who fan. It doesn't matter if you've seen the classic episodes or not. This shit is just too good to miss.

Speaking of Specials Nash has taken part in a number of crossovers. Nash has a great personality that easily melds with the other contributors on the site. He can work with just about anyone and produce something good. Off the top of my head I'd recommend his work with Film Brain. Not only do the two work well together but the subjects of choice are ripe for lampooning.

Get a Haircut you Hippie!!!
All in all there is very little I can say about Nash that isn't overwhelmingly positive. In fact there is only one thing that I can think of. He has really long hair. Like Hippie long. I hate Hippies. I can't help it. It's my own personal thing. Aside from that I have nothing but praise for the man and his work. Nash is one of the best at what he does. I put his work right up there with another of my favorites, Brad "Cinema Snob" Jones. That is high praise. You have to take a look at his work. It will brighten your day.
