Damn!! Thursday.

Thursday posts are the hardest for me. I rack my brain trying to find or think of something that would elicits a Damn!! This week was especially bad, until I remembered the Honey Badger. I know that sounds like an odd subject but it isn't. Trust me.

I want you to watch that video. It is the key to this post. There are three very important aspect to that video. The first being the narrator's voice. It is hilarious. His tone and intonations are comedy gold. Now add to that the subject of his narration. A voice like that doing a "nature documentary" style narration is doubly funny. Finally the Honey Badger itself is pure awesome.

The honey badger (Mellivora capensis) or the ratel as it is also known is a species of mustelid. It is native to Africa, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent.

The honey badger does not closely resemble other badger species. It is more similar to weasels.

The reason the Honey Badger has received the attention of the Internet, becoming a meme in itself, is do to its reckless nature.

The Honey Badger as the pictures above state "Does not Care", "Does not give a Damn", or "Doesn't give a Fuck" (my personal favorite).

It is known to be a fearless and resilient animal. They has been known to savagely attack their enemies when escape is impossible. They are tireless and incredibly tough. The Honey Badger is even known to hunt and eat highly venomous snakes. They even dig up human corpses from time to time.

In 2011 the video above became an popular Internet meme. The footage is from the Nat Geo WILD network. It's popularity has reached outside of the Internet with the Honey Badger name appearing on the TV show Glee and being used as a nickname for the LSU Tigers' football player Tyrann Mathieu. The fad has gone so far that there are now shirts featuring the Honey Badger.

When you add all that up you get an animal that leaves me able to say only on thing. All I can say is DAMN!!

As a bonus I have included another video being narrated by the man from the one above. It is a bout the Jesus Lizard. If you enjoyed the first one you might enjoy this one.
