On this edition of Web Wednesday I thought we might look at someone a little different. Most of the people I talk about host review shows. The few that don't made comedic shorts and parodies. The man I am going to talk about today does neither. He makes videos but they are not reviews, comedic shorts, or parodies. He makes videos showing his hand made inventions. He is Jorg Sprave the host, creator, and craftsman behind the Slingshot Channel.

Jorg Sprave was born in 1965 in Dortmund, Germany. He studies economy at the University of Paderborn and achieved a master's degree in Business Administration. He is currently the CEO of a mid size consumer electronics company.

I first came upon Jorg through the Gizmodo site. They were in love with this German man and his crazy slingshots. While I can appreciate the appeal of a slingshot that shoots vampire stakes I was more impressed with his skill.

Not only is the man gifted in the art of design and fabrication he is a master wood worker. As you can see in the above picture he creates slingshots that are works of art. The use of exotic woods, intricate carving, and color create stunning yet functional pieces.

As I said Jorg is a gifted designer. He has created the pump action slingshot ( shown in the video above), the bow sling shot, and rifle slingshot. All of which are functional and show a high level technical skill.

Most of Jorg's fame has come not from his smaller more technical and artistic pieces but from his crazy, large, and dangerous creations. Such as the one shown above. These slingshots are just as well made as his smaller pieces but are infintly more powerful.

As if his monster slingshots weren't cool enough Jorg has also ventured into the world of Zombie defense. He has created a number of slingshots made specifically as Zombie killing tools. As we all know there is nothing cooler than killing Zombies. Except killing Zombies with slingshots.

Jorg's creations are better seen than read about. Take a few minutes to peruse his youtube channel and website. If the smaller beauties don't interest you than the giant monstrosities will.
