Web Wednesday.

It occurred to me today that every person I have spotlighted on Web Wednesday is a white male. Even when I talk about a group of people like Team 4 Star or a website like TV Nihon they are mostly made up of white guys. Which means Web Wednesday has become a sausage fest. This must be rectified. As such today's subject is a woman. A white woman unfortunately but it's a start. Anyway let's talk about Obscurus Lupa.

Allison Pregler or as she is better known Obscurus Lupa (Usually just Lupa) is an Internet movie reviewer featured on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. She usually features "Z-Grade Movies". These movies are defined by Lupa as "something that doesn't have the capability or the budget to do something incredible" or to be more precise ultra low budget movies.

These "Z-Grade Movies" are featured on "Obscurus Lupa Presents" which is on the verge of hitting 75 episodes. Of these movies Lupa has reviewed The Room, the American Ninja series, Gymkata, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and possibly my favorite Pocket Ninjas. Lupa has a very unique style. Not only does she do the usual voice over and reaction shots but also uses picture in picture shots as well. Another unique aspect of her reviews is her positive outlook. Unlike most other reviewers she is more likely to openly enjoy the films she makes fun of. It is a nice change of pace to see someone enjoy a stupid film.

Lupa's secondary show is "Manic Episodes". In this series she reviews a single episode of a T.V. show. These episodes are usually considered bad either by the show's fan base or Lupa herself. Series featured on "Manic Episodes" include Torchwood, Cop Rock, and Baywatch Nights. Lupa also did a three part retrospective on She-Wolf of London, a show she has gone on record as loving.

Aside from her two series Lupa has done a number of Specials. These specials range from comedic shorts, crossovers, Vlogs, and even random food reviews. While these specials are par for the course Lupa's presentation adds a new flavor to them.

To be honest Lupa has not done as much as other people I have talked about but that doesn't mean she is any less entertaining. The work Lupa has done, while not technically perfect, is pure fun. From her choice in material to her presentation everything about her and her shows are just damn enjoyable. If your are interested in her work I would suggest  either her Pocket Ninjas, My Boyfriend's Back, or Tammy and the T-Rex reviews. Give them a shot.
