Tat Tuesday.

Last week when I was talking about GameCenter CX I mentioned that I was never a real gamer. I did have a number of game systems as a child. My favorite were the portable systems. Such as the Game Boy (Including all its upgraded versions), Neo Geo Pocket, and my personal favorite the Sega Game Gear. Which, in case you haven't guessed, is this Tat Tuesday's topic.

On this edition of Media Monday we finally look at the fourth installment in the "Lone Wolf and Cub" series. "Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril". Since it has taken me so long to get this up let's get right to it.

Awesome Fat Guy of the Week.

Recently the Internet has be a buzz with talk of the SOPA and PIPA acts. Smarter people than I have made their views about these proposed laws. What I and most people have taken away from them is that these bills are written in such a way that they can facilitate an insane amount of forced censorship on the Internet. Wednesday a number of websites went dark in protest. The following day the US government shut down the popular file hosting website MegaUpload. A lot of people see this as a possible glimpse into the future if the aforementioned bills pass. Now you may be wondering what any of this has to do with the Awesome Fat Guy of the Week. Well the founder of MegaUpload, Kim Schimtz, may just be an Awesome Fat Guy. I say may because I have yet to decide if he deserves that accolade. Check after the jump to see what I decide.

Damn!! Thursday.

I'm a dog person. I have always loved dogs. In fact I have had a dog from the day I was born until just a few years ago. During that time I have learned that dogs have feelings. Anyone who has ever had a dog knows this. One thing that people may not be aware of is just how deep those feeling run. There have been stories of dogs staying by the dead bodies of their owners until they themselves perish, or of dogs facing incredible danger to protect the ones it loves. Check after the jump for an example.

Web Wednesday.

On this edition of Web Wednesday I am going to look at something a little different. Normally I spotlight a person or group of people who produce video content. Usually in the form of review shows or comedic series. If you consider those people to be akin to TV shows then what I am spotlighting today is like a Television Network. Today I am going to talk about TV-Nihon.

Tat Tuesday.

Not long ago I took a look back at Battle Beast a little remembered toy series from the 80's. Now while it's true that I do have fond memories of playing with those toys that isn't why I chose to spotlight it. No, you see recently I have become aware of a new toy line that is somewhat reminiscent of Battle Beast. Check after the jump to find out what that is and why you should check it out.

Media Monday.

I know what you're thinking. Where is the review for Lone Wolf and Cub 4? Well, to be perfectly honest I wanted to take a little break from the series. Don't worry I'll finish the last three movies and and get my reviews up starting next week. This week I wanted to talk about something different. Check after the jump to learn what that above picture is about.

Awesome Fat Guy of the Week.

After last week's Awesome Fat Guy I was unsure of who to spotlight next. Another comedian. actor, or musician? There are so many to choose from. While walking to the corner store a name popped in my head. A man whose charisma and presence allowed him to become on of the all time greats in his field. The field being Professional Wrestling and the man being "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes.

Damn!! Thursday.

It's time for this weeks edition of Damn!! Thursday. The above picture is from the Life Archive. It is one of a number of pictures in a series entitled Living with a Lion from 1970s. In it a family is shown going through it's everyday life accompanied by a lion. I don't know who they are or why they have a lion but I found the pictures to be both beautiful and incredibly interesting. It's a good way to start this Damn!! Thursday.

Web Wednesday.

Jorg Sprave showing off his machete sling shot.
On this edition of Web Wednesday I thought we might look at someone a little different. Most of the people I talk about host review shows. The few that don't made comedic shorts and parodies. The man I am going to talk about today does neither. He makes videos but they are not reviews, comedic shorts, or parodies. He makes videos showing his hand made inventions. He is Jorg Sprave the host, creator, and craftsman behind the Slingshot Channel.

Tat Tuesday.

When I was in grade school the kids would play a silly game. We would pair off take our Sporks and have a competition. It was simple. You bend the tip of the handle into a right angle. Once that was done you and your competitor would take turns pulling back the handle and and releasing it. The target was the scoop part of the Spork which would be turned over revealing the bottom. The goal was to break the Spork. The winner was the first one to destroy the other's scoop. It was stupid but we didn't have Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or even Magic the Gathering cards. This may be why I have a love Sporks. So this Tat Tuesday let's take a look at the coolest utensil ever. The Spork.

SciFi Saturday

When I was a kid there was a small diner very near my home. This place was a true "hole in the wall". The food was your very basic diner fare. I loved the chicken nuggets. they came out of a huge brown bag in the freezer. It was the sort of food that kids love. Anyway this diner had something different going for it. In the window facing the street were a number of toys. One of those toys was from the series "Bionic Six". The "Bionic Six" was one of those series that came out just a few years too early for me to latch onto. However, thanks to syndication and the Sci-Fi channel I did get to enjoy a few episodes. After looking back at "The Centurions" I got a case of nostalgia and this show is one of the most nostalgic for me. It also happens to be a Sci-Fi show. Which makes it perfect for Sci-Fi Saturday.

Awesome Fat Guy of the Week.

It's Friday. You know what that means. It means Awesome Fat Guy of the Week. This week I wanted to spotlight an actor. I looked through a number of men that fit the bill but none of them caught my attention. That is until I heard a voice. It was a loud bombastic voice. A voice that could belong to only one man. The Awesome Fat Guy of the Week is none other than Brian Blessed.

Damn!! Thursday.

Once again I find myself at a loss. It's Thursday, which means I should post something that would make you say "Damn!!". I have seen many things on my years on the Internet. Many of those things would illicit that response, unfortunately most of them are horrifying and not suitable for this blog. As such what you see here may not elicit the proper response, but will still be cool. Maybe even Damn Cool.

Web Wednesday.

On the last edition of Web Wednesday I talked about Dragon Ball Z Abridged. At the end of that post I mentioned the creator of the Abridged genre. Today I want to take a look at him and his work. So let's get to it.

Tat Tuesday.

It's time to look at some more Tat. Recently I have reminded of a cool toy line from the 80's. While I wasn't a huge fan of these at the time, looking back I can easily see the appeal. On this edition of Tat Tuesday we are going to look at Battle Beasts.

So, I thought I would take a few days off from the blog. To recharge my batteries and come back better than before. To the people who have actually visited before don't worry. This is not goodbye. This is just "See You Later".

SciFi Saturday.

After last week's post I started to think about other cartoons that I could talk about. One of theme even featured power armor. It was one of my favorites as a child and still holds a place in my heart. So let's take a look at "Centurions: Power X Treme".

Awesome Fat Guy of the Week.

I love Christmas. I adore it. I am not a practicing Catholic. I was baptized and had first communion but as soon as I was old enough to make the choice I quit the church. Even though I went to a Catholic grade school and high school I was never very religious. As far as I was concerned organized religion was for a certain type of person and I was not that person. As such I always saw Christmas as a family holiday. I know that it has it's roots in pagan Rome and pagan Winter Solstice celebrations and as such I have no problem celebrating it. My favorite aspect of Christmas is Santa Clause. How could it not be? He is the most beloved Fat Guy ever. So seeing as today is Friday, the last Friday before Christmas at that, there was only one man for me to talk about today. That brought up a problem. Where do I start? What do I talk about? Where do I end? Well I came up with an answer. Check after the jump for this week's Awesome Fat Guy of the Week.

Damn!! Thursday.

Thursday posts are the hardest for me. I rack my brain trying to find or think of something that would elicits a Damn!! This week was especially bad, until I remembered the Honey Badger. I know that sounds like an odd subject but it isn't. Trust me.

Web Wednesday.

On this installment of Web Wednesday we are moving away from puppets to animation. Today I am going to talk about the funniest collection of Otaku on the planet Team Four Star.

Tat Tuesday.

After talking about toys for the past couple of weeks I thought it would be fun to look at a different type of tat. Something bigger and much more extravagant. So from toy trucks covered in lights we go to real trucks covered in lights. Let's delve into one of the more interesting worlds of Japanese subculture. The Dekotora.

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx.

Something Sunday.

A "Traditional Family". I suddenly have a craving for white bread.

I had planned to post short stories on Sundays. However I haven't gotten around to writing any new material. As such there have been no Sunday posts. Until now. This is the first "Something Sunday." I'll try to post something of interest on Sundays from now on. This first post about my experience with the "Traditional Family".

As you may know New York has recently passed a law allowing same sex marriage. Something I am all for. Some do not agree with me. Many have said that this would be the end of the "Traditional Family". When I was growing up in Spanish Harlem there was only one "Traditional Family". The Melendez family.I am going to take this opportunity to talk about them. If you are interested check after the jump for what I have to say. I'll even sweeten the pot a little. There is a video of a nontraditional family as well.

SciFi Saturday

Sometimes when you are a child you come across something that you instantly like. You enjoy it for what it is and when it ends you let it go. Then as time goes on you find yourself liking it more and more. Until you finally look back on it and actually love it. That's how I feel about Exosquad. Let's take a look at it.

Awesome Fat Guy of the Week.

Barry White working hard to get you laid.

After spending so much time on Awesome Fat Comedians I thought it would be a nice change to move back to the world of music. Since I spoke about Funny Fat Guys, Powerful Fat Guys, and Athletic Fat Guys, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about the Romantic Fat Guy. There were a few choices for this but one man stood head and shoulders above the rest. Barry White. The man responsible for more nights of passion than any cheap wine. Mr. "Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe." himself.

Tat Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, I mentioned that there was one last toy car that was important to me as a child. Let's take a look at it. It's Christmas and the Hess truck is here. As a kid I only ever had one Hess truck. My family were not car owners. Living in New York and having little money we usually used mass transit. Even with that I somehow had a Hess Truck. I loved it. It was unique among my toys. While I had Micro Machines and the Animal, this was one of only two large scale realistic car toys I had. The other was an old die cast fire truck. I don't know where it came from or where it went. By the time I received the Hess Truck the old fire truck was gone. I did not mourn it for long. I though it would be cool to look through all of the Hess Trucks and give my opinion of them. So check it out after the jump.
