Damn!! Thursday.

It's Thursday. You know what that means. Let's get to it. The above picture is a baby parrot. It's supposed to look like that. Doesn't make it any less ugly. Sadly it's been a slow week. Not much to look at but I'll do my best.

Where to begin? How about with some good old fashioned cannibalism? Jorge Beltrao Negromonte, his wife Isabel Pires, and Bruna Da Silva his 25 year old mistress have been arrested for the murder of 20 year old Alexandra Falcao. Unsurprisingly Alexandra was no their only victim. The second victim has tentatively been identified as Gisele da Silva. The killers, who are part of a fringe sect (cult), sold empanadas made of the flesh of their victims to their neighbors. That is why I don't eat street food. Read more here.

Imagine for a second that you are a Brooklyn DA. A woman has accused two men of rape, but then recants. What do you so? Well a normal person would drop the charges and move on. That is why you aren't a Brooklyn DA. Read the story here.

Julian Emms, the man in the above picture, is the definition of a dead beat dad. His son, also in the picture, was dying. His friends and family started to raise money for a potentially life saving treatment. Sadly Michael would pass before the goal was met. To make matters worse Julian stole most of the money that had been raised for his son. Leaving an amount so small it would not cover his son's funeral. Read more here.

In Afghanistan conservative extremist have poisoned the drinking water at a High School. The reason being their disapproval at the education of girls. 150 girls have fallen ill due to this act. Thankfully their have been no deaths. Read more here.

The above picture, also from Afghanistan, was taken after a suicide attack left 63 dead. The picture was taken by Massoud Hossaini. He has since won a Pulitzer Price for it.

This is a picture of Massoud after learning his picture won the highly sought after prize. He has gone on record as saying "Women were asking me, "Help, help, help," I couldn't. I was recording and I was taking pictures." Which means that instead of helping to save lives he took pictures and was awarded for it. These two pictures say a lot to me. It shows just how far removed from tragedy we can be. Coming from a cynical, uncaring, individual, which I am, that is saying something. I can sum it all up with one word. DAMN!! More here.
