Web Wednesday.

Instead of focusing on one particular Web Entertainer this week I decided to do another random web video post. I like to think of these posts as Wasted Wednesdays. Sometimes you just want to waste some time. What better way than to do it on the Internet. That's what it's for anyway. Isn't it? That's a rhetorical question. It is. Take a look after the break to see just how right I am.

If you are any kind of Comic book fan, Joss Whedon fan, or Super Hero movie fan, then you are awaiting the Avengers movie with bated breath. I know I am. With every new trailer my mouth waters even more. This fan altered version of the recent full trailer is no exception. It's basically the normal trailer but with the actors replaced by action figures. If you have even the smallest amount of an inner child then you will love it.

I hate whales. I know that that is not a popular statement but I can't help it. Maybe it's due to the type of people who want to save the whales. When I see those vegan, Birkenstock wearing, peace loving, hippies tout the virtues of whales it just makes me hate them even more. Don't even get me started on those Sea Shepard douche bags. Anyway the video above started to piss me off right from the start. In fact, if it wasn't for the ridiculous visuals I would have just filed it away as another reason to hate whales. But I couldn't do that. Watching whales riding badly designed Mech's while killing aliens overrode my initial disgust. Although my acceptance only goes so far. If the whales had been replaced by those uppity rapist dolphins nothing could have saved it. I think this got away from me. Let me try this again. The video above has whales in Mech suits fighting aliens. Watch it.

If the previous video was awesome despite it's preachy message, this video is awesome because it has no message. The Starbarians are basically Conan the Barbarian without the subtlety and heroic undertones. Except in space and with aliens. Oh and a dinosaur shaped spaceship that has massive boobs. It is pure unadulterated teenage boy day dream turned into animation. Need I say more?

Being a giant fat guy I don't spend much time at the gym. And by much I mean none. However as a teenager I skipped so many gym classes that I had to go the the school's weight room after school or else I'd fail the class and not be able to graduate. Imagine for a second a vegan being forced to work in a Butcher's shop. That is how out of my depth I was. I ended up spending an hour on a triceps machine because it was the only one I figured out how to use. I could have just asked for help but I was too shy, embarrassed, and out of breath to do that. After having watched this video I doubt I'll ever step into a gym. Not because of the video. I just doubt I'd walk my fat ass into a gym out off pure principle or laziness. If I did I would end up being one of the guys in this video. I'll leave you to guess which one.

I live in New York City. Roaches are everywhere. If you see one you kill it. You have to. It's either you or them. This video makes me feel awkward about that. I hate when people humanize the things that I kill. Not that it's ever happened before. On a side note if one of these things was put up for every dead roach in the city we would drown in tiny flower bouquets.

Since we are combing the Internet for entertainment it was only a matter of time before we came upon cats. This video is a claymation version of John Carpenter's The Thing starring Cats. It is both adorable and unsettling.

Let's stick with cats for second. In this video we have a Star Trek styled video staring two real cats, a robot, and a rat. It is better than it should be. Although I find that if you dress the cats you should also dress the rat. Other wise I start to think about naked Klingons. I don't want to think about naked Klingons.

Oh god dammit!!

I haven't watched Game of Thrones yet. I will eventually. I have to. Everyone is constantly talking about how awesome it is. Watching Playmobil minifigs in a stop motion version of the trailer for the first series is tempting me to start the show right now.

I used to watch a lot of fan films. I found a few that were really well made. the best of them were Grayson, Batman: Dead End, World's Finest, and The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special. While this film isn't as good as those it does show that the people behind the camera have a great deal of potential.

Here is another fan film. The last one exceeded in telling a bit of a story but left something to be desired with the special effects. This video is the complete opposite. The story takes a back seat to the effects and costuming, which are top notch.

I swear I watched this video. I did. I paid attention and everything. But I have no idea what I watched. Things happened. That's all that I know. I could type words and describe what I saw but it would just end up being a rambling mess of nonsense. You just have to watch this yourself. Watch this thing to see the things happening in the thing. Things!

More Fun.
